Collective, democratic orders are under attack, the ecological crisis proclaimed as fake, capitalist systems follow logics of exploitation. We exist in a constant STRESSTEST. The performative body makes the aspects of the environment in which we live visible. What does stress mean in this system? What power practices emerge in these challenging landscapes? How long do we remain functional and when and where do first weak points emerge? Where is the point of no return?
‘STRESSTEST’ is a collaboration between Kunstraum DOCK 20 (Lustenau, AT) and Perrrformat with the two dancers and choreographers Deva Schubert and Francesca Ferrari. During a one-month residency in Lustenau in July 2024, the two developed a performance centred around their bodies and voices, which were put to a self-stress test. This raises questions about functionality in pressurised situations and also explores the tipping points of self-sustaining and ecological systems.
Deva Schubert is a Berlin-based choreographer specialising in vocal practice. At the interface of dance, installation and digital media, her work addresses questions of intimacy, collectivity and synergies of transdisciplinary practices.
Francesca Ferrari is a choreographer, dancer and performer. Her work explores choreographies of social order through body, voice and theory.

Alternative Documentation:
A score (movement score) shows the movement sequences of a performance and serves performers as a tool for the development and orientation of a performative work. Drawn by Deva Schubert & Francesca Ferrari during the development week of STRESSTEST at the end of June 2025.
With its alternative Documentation, Perrrformat explores new approaches to documenting performance. Together with artists and other cultural practitioners, formats are developed that do not simply record what has happened, but open up new perspectives on performative processes.
