wet dat burn is a site-specific performance developed in dialogue with the natural water source of the River Limmat at Wipkingerpark. Led by Lateena & The Dolls in collaboration with Tamara Alegre, the project brings together Dancehall, a cappella singing, instrumental music, and ritual practices inspired by Caribbean cultures.
Rather than positioning itself as a spectacle presented for an audience, the work invites participants into a shared embodied experience. wet dat burn creates a temporary ceremonial healing space where memory, migration, spirituality, and radical pleasure coexist. The performance culminates in a participatory Dancehall and twerk workshop open to all levels.
Lateena Plummer is a Jamaican artist based in Zurich and a key figure in the local Dancehall scene. A singer, performer, and founder of Lateena & The Dolls, she creates body-positive, queer, and sex-positive spaces where community, ritual, and radical pleasure take center stage. Influenced by her Rastafarian upbringing and her experience as a trans queer person, she uses Dancehall as a powerful artistic language to challenge dominant narratives around gender, sexuality, and belonging while uplifting marginalized voices.
Tamara Alegre is a choreographer working at the intersection of contemporary dance, community-based practices, and Jamaican Dancehall culture. Born in Gran Canaria, she holds an MA in Choreography from DOCH in Stockholm. Her artistic research explores embodiment, sensuality, cultural transmission, and collective modes of creation. She co-created 1GUH WATCH with Jamaican artists and develops participatory, educational, and research-based projects, including EKOS DEM A MOVE with Nimia Gracious and Lateena & The Dolls.
Luxury is a dancer from Saint Martin whose passion for movement emerged at an early age. After reconnecting with dance through Lateena Plummer, she became an active performer within Switzerland's Dancehall community, appearing on stages across Switzerland as well as in Amsterdam and Germany. She has taught weekly Twerkshops at Tanzhaus Zurich and is a founding member of Pink Nation.
Colombiana is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans dance, singing, and beauty. Dance has been central to her identity since childhood, becoming her primary form of expression and leading her to perform in Switzerland and internationally.
