In hips don't lie—el oráCULO, Isam Abad Montalvo activates the friction between performer and public through karaoke as full-body experience—a juicy, vulnerable journey through sensuality, playfulness and longing. It is also an oracle of what's to come with hips don't lie—cuidado, perrxs tristes, a collective piece that will be presented at Emergentia 2026.

Isam Abad Montalvo is an Ecuadorean performer and creator based in Lausanne. He's always been interested in movement. Contemporary and classical dance, partnering, swimming, capoeira, acrobatics, climbing, boxing, and pole dancing. All of this accompanied by a soundtrack with heavy basses. (He's also a baby DJ) His thirst for movement and playfulness within performance has taken him to various places in Ecuador, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. He completed his BA at La Manufacture and is now developing his work with the support of L'Abri Genève and Grand Luxe. He's also a co-founder and regular dancer at KissMyAss Club in Zurich. And collaborates with Cecilia Moya Rivera, Baby Volcano, Marara Kelly, and Nina Negri.
