“Vibing is a structural matter and repetition can be brutal. It is the feeling of a teenager, posing in front of a mirror, with a blush of shame on their pretty face. Not yet in full capacity to grasp the social implications of their creation, but eager to learn. “It is easy to be with me, just for a moment” the image says. Can you stretch my ankle while I try to be myself? Yes, I know what to do.”
We are very excited to dive with you into SUNNY's performative work, within which public space is portrayed as a central negotiation site of collective power, dependency and visibility. In doing so, SUNNY focuses on the various visual and textual markers of different protest and activism cultures and uses poetic-occupying group choreographies to examine the effect of collective movement in the context of resistance and political action.
For "I know what to do" by SUNNY we have teamed up with Shedhalle Zurich to present the performance as part of the whole project, which will be shown in the exhibition "Queer Trusts" starting mid-September. In it Pfalzer will exhibit an additional video work, as well as complementary textile sculptures.
