Geneva-based artist Giulia Essyad uses her own body as both an investigative tool and a physical projection surface in her exploration of female identity and its stereotyping. Within her practice she often draws inspiration from various media references and historical-social backgrounds. In doing so, she explores the aesthetic richness of different genres of imagery, such as science fiction or fantasy, and combines their elements with current pop-cultural internet trends of self-representation and framing. With “Rosabel… BELIEVE” Essyad leads us into the watery depths of a tragic love vow and its magical power. You can expect a cleansing ritual of a very special kind!
