Under Pressure! Between prohibition signs and advertising billboards, between surveillance cameras, construction sites and the disappearance of familiar places – our shared experience of public space is under social, capitalist, political and physical pressure.

In the midst of this pressure, experienced differently by every body, rrrRr – Perrrformat Performance Festival invites artists to question Zurich's shared spaces anew. In their works, they engage with questions of desire, memory, precarity and belonging – through karaoke, fashion, couple dance, parade and ritual. They experiment with the conventions and aesthetics of the performative arts and carry their personal concerns – fears, longings and visions of living together – into public space. In public space, these personal concerns find a collective echo. Because public space is inherently polyphonic – and it is this multiplicity of voices, bodies and realities that keeps it alive and in motion.

rrrRr – Perrrformat Performance Festival is an invitation to let movement emerge as a response to pressure: bodies that shift, perspectives that change, and new forms of encounter that open up. Perrrformat seeks to create situations in which audiences and the city can come into contact in new ways. Pressure cannot be resolved, but it can be redirected – into movement, exchange and attention. We invite you to stop thinking of public space as a given, and to see it instead as something we must actively make together, again and again.
