Perrrformat is dedicated to the curation, mediation, and documentation of performative practices in (semi-)public spaces. Founded in Zurich in 2020, this nomadic initiative explores forms of performance that unfold beyond traditional institutional frameworks, working closely with invited artists in a spirit of collaboration and experimentation. Its free public programme brings the diverse languages of performance to a broad audience, while opening up key questions around performativity, presence, and shared space.
A further focus lies on developing new approaches to mediation and experimental documentation, tested alongside the performances themselves, with the long-term aim of building an open and continuously evolving archive.
Perrrformat is artistically directed by Luca Büchler, Martina Morger, and Monica Unser. Communication is managed by Michelle Stutz.
For questions or suggestions, you can reach us by email at: info[at]perrrformat.com
Luca Büchler is an artist, performer, curator, and Co-Editor-in-Chief of PW Magazine. He completed his Bachelor in Fine Arts at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in 2020 and graduated in 2024 from the University of Applied Arts Vienna, where he studied Transmedia Art in the class of Jakob Lena Knebl. His artistic practice engages with familiar everyday moments as expressions of social conditions, while continuously testing and expanding the boundaries of performance. His work has been presented nationally and internationally, including at Hamlet, Zurich (2024), Les Urbaines, Lausanne (2023), Kunstverein Gartenhaus, Vienna (2023), Cabaret Voltaire, Zurich (2023), sic! elephant house, Lucerne (2022), Laurenz, Vienna (2021), and Kunstmuseum St.Gallen (2021).
Martina Morger studied Media Art at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and earned a Master’s degree in Fine Arts Practice from the Glasgow School of Art. As an interdisciplinary artist, she explores themes such as the public sphere, consumer behaviour, and care. Her work has been shown at institutions and events including Museum Tinguely, Neues Museum Biel, Kunstmuseum Appenzell, Kunstverein Hannover, Liste Art Fair Basel, the Scottish National Galleries, and the 58th Venice Biennale. In spring 2020, she was a fellow at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. She received the MANOR Prize in 2021 and the IBK Prize in 2024.
Monica Unser is an art historian (M.A.) and curator. She studied art history and philosophy in Lausanne, Florence, and Zurich. Since 2022, she has been working as an assistant curator at Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. She has curated projects across both French- and German-speaking Switzerland, including as co-president of Cabanon (UNIL, Lausanne) and as co-curator of the online art space sabl.live. Since 2023, she has been part of the jury and curatorial team of the exhibition format Plattform, co-curating Plattform24 at Kunstmuseum Appenzell, Plattform25 at CAN – Centre d’art Neuchâtel and Plattform26 at Kunsthaus Biel Centre d’Art Bienne. Her independent curatorial and writing practice focuses on performance history, feminist theory, and avant-garde movements.
Michelle Stutz studied Art and Media at the Zurich University of the Arts as well as Advertising at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at ZHdK and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Cultural Management at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, she worked as an art mediator for the Venice Biennale and as a communications assistant at König Büro Gallery and Liste Art Fair Basel.
